Not Getting Results?

If the criteria you enter is not an exact match to at least one record, you will get the "Sorry, no results found. Search Again?" message.

Here are a few example of why you might NOT get results:

  • If you type "Kevin Henkes" in ILLUSTRATOR field and select "1960-1969" from the DATE drop-down menu, you will NOT get results because he was not publishing in the 1960s.
  • If you type "Kevin Henkes" in ILLUSTRATOR field and select "oils" from the ARTISTIC MEDIUM drop-down menu, you will NOT get results because he has never worked in oils.
  • If you type "Princes and princesses" in the SUBJECTS field and select "1930-1939" from the DATE drop-down menu, you will NOT get results because we do not have titles that fit that criteria in the database.

TIPS

  • Begin typing, the autocomplete feature will offer suggestions.
  • Do not be afraid to use multiple criteria; however, being too specific may hinder your results.
  • It is not necessary to fill in all the fields.
  • You do not need to type a/an/the before titles.

PICTURE BOOK OR PICTURE STORYBOOK?

We assign a category (illustrated, informational picture book, picture book, picture storybook, traditional literature, verse) to all titles. Most people have specific reasons for considering a title a "picture book" or a "picture storybook," so we suggest not relying on it when searching for titles. Please see CATEGORIES for more details.
